The most beautiful city in Norway Molde is surrounded by beautiful scenery with vast contrasts. The Molde Panorama is famous for its 222 mountain peaks behind the blue fjord and many islets. Molde lies comfortably in the lee of the mountains and enjoys mild winters. The biting cold rarely sets for many days running. The weather often changes rapidly highlighting dramatic changes of light from dark grey to bright blue skies.
Culture Molde changes from a quiet small town to a buzzing jazz capitol when close to 100 000 visitors comes to the Molde International Jazz Festival one week in July every year. Several world wide famous artists has visited Molde for the Jazz Festival throughout the years. Bjørnsonfestivalen, the Norwegian Festival of International Literature, is held annually in August.
Molde has a cosy city centre with many small and big shops and two shopping centres.
Activites There are several sport activities to choose from. In 2008 a brand new indoor climbing wall opened in a new sports centre. A new indoor football field also opened in 2008. In addition a new indoor swimming pool is planned to open in autumn 2009. Just 15 minutes by car outside the city centre there are wonderful mountain areas to go hiking in the summer or skiing in the winter.
